Quazi's Strategy:

The MG class is new to the DoD atmosphere. Gone are the clunky pre-set machine guns that the maps had to offer. Instead, the players get to choose where the machine-guns are, where they can aim, and how they want to use them. Whether for assault, for defense, or just plain camping, the MG class is new and there is much to be explored. First, in order to use the machine gun, one must either go prone, or find a place in a map where the "MG nest" icon appears at the bottom-left part of the screen. Once you have either gone prone, or see the icon, hit your secondary-fire button (default second-mouse button) and your bipod will now be in place. You cannot reload the MG unless you have deployed the MG. Now that you've got the MG deployed, how can you use it? As an assault weapon, this is vital for holding the enemy where you want them. You can keep them out of doorways or keep sniper windows empty. You can keep a hallway cut off or keep a point from being captured. The main way to use this gun is to realize what you want to do with it. Don't just set it up because you want to start killing people. Set it up for a purpose. Which purpose you choose is up to you. One you have a purpose, then you just fire the weapon. It's pretty easy. If you see movement, and it's not your team, fire your weapon. The bullets will soar through walls just like the BAR, so use that to your advantage. Burst-firing doesn't do anything, and you've got 150 rounds, so let it fly. BUT this does not mean be stupid with your ammo. If you're firing away and obviously not hitting anything, then stop firing. You only have a limited amount of ammo. Don't waste it. Also, reload. This gun will do you no good with 4 shots left. So reload when you have the chance. Reload takes quite a long time, so don't do it in the middle of a fire-fight if you can avoid it. Another thing to note is the fact that these guns DO work while you're crouched. If you're running to another spot and you come upon an enemy, don't be afraid to just crouch and let the shells fly. Just watch your target because the recoil is INSANE. However, because so many bullets are flying out at such a fast rate, the chance that your enemy will die is pretty good. For reliability however, try to use your pistol. It's accurate, fires fast, and does the job when it comes to killing. Last thing to note, you only have a limited field of vision. You can go a bit up and a bit down, and about 75 degrees to either side, but that's it. If you're trying to cover an area (say, two hallways that are separated and a sniper window above them) deploy your MG horizontally in the middle and with enough distance to cover above and below. I've seen too many MGs die because they can't hit their enemy. Be aware of what you can and can't hit. To recap, have a purpose when you're using this gun. Watch your ammo, and watch your targets. Now, just let the shells fly and the corpses pile up, because it's time to make a pile of bodies with this wonderful weapon.
